Caitlin Clark Points In Final

Caitlin Clark Leads Iowa to Victory Over UConn in Final Four

Hawkeyes Hold Off Huskies Despite Clark's Off Night

March 08, 2023 - Minneapolis, Minnesota

In a thrilling Final Four matchup, Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes defeated the UConn Huskies 71-69 on Friday night. Clark, the National Player of the Year, led the Hawkeyes with 21 points, including a crucial 3-pointer late in the game that helped Iowa secure the victory.

Clark, who entered the game needing just one made three-pointer to break the NCAA single-season record for any gender, struggled to find her shot in the first half, going 0-for-6 from beyond the arc. However, she caught fire in the second half, hitting 3-of-5 from long range to help the Hawkeyes build a lead over the Huskies.

UConn made a late push in the fourth quarter, but the Hawkeyes were able to hold on for the win. Olivia Miles led the Huskies with 19 points, and Aaliyah Edwards added 17 points and 11 rebounds. However, it was Clark's clutch shooting that proved to be the difference for Iowa.

With the victory, the Hawkeyes advanced to the national championship game, where they will face the Stanford Cardinal on Sunday night. Clark will be looking to continue her historic season and lead Iowa to its first national title since 1993.
