Kapalua, Hawaii - Fresh off his record-breaking 477-yard drive at The Sentry Tournament of Champions, Max Homa brushed off the hype and embraced the attention his prodigious distance has generated.

On Saturday's third round, Homa's tee shot on the seventh hole at Kapalua's Plantation Course shattered the previous PGA TOUR record, which stood at 473 yards. According to StatLink Era data dating back to 2003, no player has launched a drive farther.

"I knew it was a bomb," Homa said after his round. "But I didn't realize it was that long." The Californian's booming drive sparked awe and excitement among fans and fellow players alike. Several golfers, including Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy, took to social media to congratulate Homa on his remarkable achievement.

"It's a surreal feeling," Homa admitted. "I've never hit the ball that far before in my life. It's a testament to all the hard work I've put in with my coach." As the golfing world continues to buzz about Homa's historic drive, the 33-year-old remains focused on his game and the task at hand.

"I'm not going to let this go to my head," Homa said. "I'm just going to keep trying to play my best golf and see where it takes me." With two rounds remaining at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, Homa will look to continue his impressive form and challenge for the title.
