Chelsea are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Brazilian right-back Pedro Lima, who is thought to in negotiations with Strasbourg. If the deal is completed, Lima would be Chelsea's second signing of the summer after the arrival of Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa.

Lima, 17, is seen as one of the best young prospects in Brazilian football and made his professional debut for Sport Recife in 2024. He has since made 14 appearances for the club, scoring one goal and providing two assists.

Lima is a versatile defender who can play at right-back or centre-back. He is known for his pace, strength, and tackling ability.

Chelsea have been tracking Lima's progress for some time and are believed to have been impressed by his performances for Sport Recife and the Brazil youth teams.

The Blues are in need of a new right-back following the departure of Reece James to Real Madrid earlier this summer. Lima would provide competition for César Azpilicueta and could eventually replace the Spaniard in the starting lineup.
