“By then we will have a clear picture”: Red Bull chief talks about Yuki Tsunoda’s partner for the 2025 F1 season

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has said that the team will have a clearer idea of who will partner Yuki Tsunoda in 2025 after the current season.

Tsunoda is currently in his third season with AlphaTauri, Red Bull’s sister team, and has shown some promising signs of improvement. However, he has also been plagued by inconsistency, and there are doubts about whether he has the potential to be a top-line driver.

Horner said that Red Bull will be keeping a close eye on Tsunoda’s progress in 2023 before making a decision about his future.

“Yuki is a talented driver, but he still has a lot to learn,” Horner said. “We need to see him make a step forward this year and show that he has the potential to be a top driver. If he can do that, then he will be in contention for a seat at Red Bull in 2025.”

Horner also said that Red Bull is not currently considering any other drivers for the 2025 season.

“We are happy with our current line-up of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez,” Horner said. “They are both world-class drivers, and we believe that they can help us win more championships in the future.”

Tsunoda is under contract with AlphaTauri until the end of 2024. It is possible that he could be loaned out to another team in 2025 in order to gain more experience. However, Horner said that Red Bull is committed to Tsunoda and believes that he has the potential to be a future star.

Conclusion

It is still too early to say who will partner Tsunoda at Red Bull in 2025. However, Horner’s comments suggest that the team is open to giving him a chance to prove himself. If Tsunoda can make a step forward in 2023, then he will be in contention for a seat at Red Bull in the future.
