England v Australia, second ODI: Duckett & Livingstone fall to consecutive balls

England 125-5 (24 ovs) trail Australia 280 (48.4 ovs) by 155 runs

Ben Duckett and Liam Livingstone were dismissed off consecutive deliveries as England's top order faltered in the second one-day international against Australia at the Adelaide Oval.

Duckett (26) was caught behind off Pat Cummins, while Livingstone (0) was trapped lbw by Mitchell Starc.

England are now 125-5 in the 24th over, with Jos Buttler (29 not out) and Moeen Ali (12 not out) at the crease.

Earlier, Australia were bowled out for 280 in the 49th over, with Travis Head (69), Steve Smith (53) and Glenn Maxwell (55) all making half-centuries.

England need to score at least 281 to win and level the series.

Duckett and Livingstone's dismissals

Duckett was out to a good delivery from Cummins that swung away from him and took the edge of his bat.

Livingstone was then trapped lbw by a yorker from Starc that he failed to dig out.

The two wickets in two balls left England struggling at 48-3.

England's top order struggles

England's top order has struggled throughout the series so far.

Jason Roy was out for a duck in the first ODI, while Jonny Bairstow and Dawid Malan have both failed to reach 20 in either game.

The dismissals of Duckett and Livingstone will only add to the pressure on England's top order.

Conclusion

England are in a difficult position in the second ODI against Australia.

They need to score at least 281 to win and level the series, but their top order has struggled so far.

The dismissals of Duckett and Livingstone will only add to the pressure on England's batsmen.
